COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign
COVID vaccination scams - please be aware that there are scam text messages being sent out advising patients to click on a link to book a covid vaccination. It then proceeds to ask you for your bank details - this is a scam, covid vaccinations are free to all so please do not give out your bank details if you receive a text asking for them.
22/3/21 - we are now vaccinating our over 50s, those identified as being at higher risk and those who are shielding. We are due to vaccinate our patients who were vaccinated on 8th Jan on Friday 26th March.
10/03/21 - we are now vaccinating our over 55s and at risks and have run our first session for 2nd vaccines. This was for patients vaccinated on 21st December. For the handful of patients on 31 December you should hear soon, if not already, regarding your follow up vaccination. We will then be in touch with our patients who were vaccinated on 8 Jan once delivery date has been confirmed but it is usually around the 11 week mark. Please do not contact us to enquire when your second vaccine will be as our telephone lines need to be kept free for patients with medical needs.
22/2/21 - we are currently vaccinating our 65 years and older population and patients with underlying health conditions - our clinics are currently booked. We will soon be writing to our patients vaccinated on 21st December 2020 with news regarding the second vaccine.
8/2/21 - we are hoping to complete vaccination of our 70 years and over and shielding patients on Friday 12th February.
20/1/21 We have now started booking in 75-80 year olds (Group 3) and completing our over 80s and care workers. We will contact you to book your appointment when we have the vaccine.
13/1/21 We are still vaccinating our over 80 year olds but hope to complete this group soon.
- We believe patients are receiving letters offering you a covid vaccination at Birmingham or Bristol. it is entirely optional whether you wish to travel for your vaccination at one of these super centres. We will continue to call our patients in as per the government guidelines risk grouping.
31/12/20 - Following announcement yesterday we are having to postpone all 2nd COVID vaccinations. If you had an appointment booked for 11th January for your second vaccination you will be receiving a letter to inform you of the cancellation. We do not currently have a alternative date but it is important that our phone lines are kept free for patients with acute illness so please do not contact us regarding this, we will be in touch to reschedule when we have a date.
30/12/20 - Following the announcement on the approval of the Oxford - Astrazeneca vaccine, please be aware that we currently have no further information to relay to our patients other than we will be contacting you direct when we have the vaccine made available to us. Vaccinations will be prioritised according to the guidance issued by the Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunisation.
Please don't telephone the Practice to enquire about getting your vaccination if you think you are eligible - we will contact you with an invitation to book. Our telephone lines are extremely busy at present and we will need to ensure we are there for those patients who are acutely unwell. Many thanks to our wonderful patients for your understanding at this time.
