Meningitis outbreak

We understand that many people may feel concerned following the recent news about the meningitis outbreak in Kent.

The strain involved in this case is MenB. Since 2015, a vaccine for MenB has been routinely offered to children up to the age of two, but it is not available on the NHS beyond this age.

There are other strains of meningitis, and most young people will have received the MenACWY vaccine during their school years. This vaccine is also available to anyone under the age of 25 who may have missed it.

If you are aged between 14 and 25 and have not yet received the MenACWY vaccine, please get in touch with us to arrange an appointment with one of our nurses.
